Azumasan Maru

The Azumasan Maru was a 7,623 gross ton freighter launched in 1933 and was part of the fleet that landed troops during the Invasion of Tulagi on 3 May 1942. After suffering severe damage, the ship was beached to prevent sinking. However, on the 16 October, B-17s further damaged the ship and she slipped off the reef and sank during the night.

Four teams descended to midships—Tech 1 teams heading toward the bow and Tech 2 teams the stern. We dropped into a number of massive holds and traversing a couple. There was a lot of rubble and artifacts on the wreck, the most notable being a number of motorcycles in a hold near the bow. The Tech 2 teams maxed out at 80m with an average 63m for just under 40min, resulting in 114min of deco. The other teams spent 30–40min at 48m.
